About

PLATTER + PLATFORM = PLATTERFORM

Focusing on creative collaborations to deliver top quality cuisine, innovative drinks and multi-dimensional experiences, Platterform bring together chefs and drink specialists with artists from visual, sonic, design and performance worlds to create a feast for all the 5 senses.
Curating surprising and exciting experiential drinking and dining concepts, Platterform collaborate with the rising stars of London’s burgeoning food and drink scene to showcase their talent as part of their ongoing experiments with performance, space and social interaction.

From Momo’s Kemia bar to the Notting Hill Arts Club and many others in between, the 3 founding members of Platterform, Julian Bayuni, Andre Bayuni and Kevin Darcy have been involved in many businesses that have hugely contributed to London’s burgeoning nightlife over the past 15 years.

With a shared passion for music, performance and art, the three ardent mixologists had always talked about ways in which they could combine these various art forms and create experiences that explore and challenge what people expect within the traditional constructs of drinking and dining and creativity- to unleash exciting and original flavours and ideas onto the world, to evoke memories and to capture people’s imagination whilst maintaining the highest level of quality and service.

This notion gave rise to the Platterform concept, and with the emergence of the pop-up restaurant scene happening in London, the three sure enough, quickly found themselves in the world of foodies, becoming involved with landmark pop-ups such as Mourad Mazouz’s Congolese Double Club (2009), the Finnish Institute’s London Design Week pop-up Helyes! (2010) and Ceviche’s introduction to Peruvian cuisine and culture at Limanation (2011).

Platterform’s signature style has developed through a process of discovery. Having acquired a penchant for letting their imaginations run wild, their creative process involves transporting themselves through space and time, to far away lands, to moments in history, to lost kingdoms and forgotten people.  Platterform feel that they must first immerse themselves before immersing their guests. Whether its pretending to be fishermen and enjoying a seaside picnic in Whitstable to develop a British seaside cocktail menu or imagining themselves at Jesus’ Last Supper upon reading the Bible to find inspiration for an historic Middle Eastern menu, Platterform find clues and creative cues in pretty much everything.

With a number of pop-ups under their belt, Platterform are now fully established in the world of experiential dining.

2012 saw them collect the Young British Foodies ‘best food experience’ award and take up residency at a beautiful rooftop venue in London Bridge, the Skyroom to curate a series of foodie events back to back including Bonnie-On-Sky (a collaboration with Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack), the London Picnic Club (working with previous head chef of Ceviche, Alejandro Bello) and the SkyMarket (working with John Junior and Leona Williams from Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Apprenticeship Program to bring London its first roof top food market).

2013 sees Platterform return to the Skyroom with a full and varied weekly programme of food and drink events throughout the Summer, collaborating with some of London’s most exciting start up food and drink businesses and talked about chefs, sommeliers and drink specialists.

Over the past 15 years the Platterform members have also built up an extensive network of experienced industry professionals from various backgrounds. This has positioned Platterform as being a one-stop-shop solution for those seeking bespoke services in event catering and project management, restaurant and bar consultancy, drinks brand promotion, product development and ambassadorship, experiential marketing, audio visual production, creative media design and more.
